Fertility Testing and Assessment

Thinking of having a baby in the future? We'd strongly recommend that you get a fertility test and assessment done for peace of mind, and future family planning.

Even if you're not ready to have a baby yet, it's best to know where your fertility is at, rather than be ready to conceive and find you have one or possibly more reproductive problems that may then make having a baby difficult - if not impossible.

Fertility rates for both men and women have dropped over the last few decades. Having had a previous pregnancy does not necessarily indicate that pregnancy is possible in women in their 30's or 40's. There's also limited evidence to suggest that semen quality in men over 40 may result in a slight rise in some genetic conditions in children born.

While every woman is different, as a woman becomes older, her eggs reduce their ability to fertilise and divide properly, leading to chromosomal abnormalities such as Down's syndrome, and an associated higher risk of miscarriage.  The older a woman becomes, the more challenging it is for her to conceive.

Having a fertility test and assessment performed can give you a current and accurate level of your own fertility and reproductive health. Please get in touch for more info or to make an appointment with Dr Davidson.
